Showtime Marketing and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) collaborated this June on a pro-bono street marketing campaign to support their Wild Onesie Week to help support endangered species, with this year’s event centred around the green turtle.
With World Environment Day taking place on the 5th of June, the WWF called upon wildlife supporters across Australia to help them ‘fun-raise’ to help save endangered species with a fortnight-long ‘Wild Onesie Week’ event. Supporters register to participate and purchase an official WWF onesie, with this year’s new addition to their range featuring a green turtle, endangerment awareness of this species being the focus of WWF Australia’s campaign. Onesies from previous years are included, including the native black-flanked rock wallaby and the famous giant panda.
The primary threats to green turtles as a species are global warming and pollution in the Great Barrier Reef, their natural habitat. WWF Australia plans to use the funds raised from Wild Onesie Week to improve water quality in the Great Barrier Reef, and is working with Banrock Station Environmental Trust and other project partners to fund new research that indicates the detrimental health concerns of urbanization and agriculture on the marine life of Australia.
Showtime Marketing volunteered to print and distribute a massive promotional street poster campaign in support of the WWF and Wild Onesie Week, with our highly experienced team covering the streets of Sydney and featuring them on our unparalleled framed wall network.
Wild Onesie Week ran from June 5th to June 11th, but you can still participate and support the fundraiser by purchasing a onesie at http://www.costumebox.com.au/wildonesieweek.
