Bespoke posters are a great way of generating talk-ablity within your desired demographic, and feeding into your social media platform, igniting buzz from your peers.

MILEY’s “WRECKING BALL”  Album Release

With a new album being released and the general hype Miley Cyrus has created, her record company wanted to continue with the unconventional theme to promote her new album “Bangerz”

The How: Since Miley’s Wrecking Ball video was released and was viral at the time there was so much talk ability around this controversial music video, if you hadn’t seen it then I’m sure you have been told about it.

So we work shopped several ideas tying in with the Wrecking ball. We pitched “The Die Cut Poster of Miley sitting on the wrecking ball artwork which was to be installed as street art”.

We created the artwork and once approved we printed 500 full colour posters and started to place them around the city, They were 1m wide x 1.4m high, We asked permission from a number of building owners and café operators and pasted the remainder on vacant unused derelict buildings / bridges etc in prime locations as any Street artist would. (Think Banksy)

Objectives: Our Client made the following points and we used them as our brief / directive

“We are thinking of doing billboards but if you can come up with something artistic and engaging we’d love to hear it” and “Miley is an artist when performing on stage, she loves to play up to the camera, we need to touch on that”

 We took an image from the highly circulated Music Video and created a street art poster.

We brought Miley’s 2 worlds together, Music and Art which is exactly what the client wanted as they requested us to find a cool and unique way to promote the new album,

Using a Guerilla marketing approach we bombarded the city with these posters hanging them off highly visible locations, creating another talking point to the controversial artist.

Results : As we hand picked and selected unique prime locations via our Guerrilla styled approach and in conjunction with the hype already surrounding Miley’s Music Video/airplay the posters were well received and stopped people in their tracks. We observed the poster trending on various social media platforms, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and blogged. The sheer talk ability that was created and the overall presences of Miley during this period was infectious, resulting in maximum saturation
